The Veil Between Realms
The Veil Between Realms is the third story mission of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. It revolves around the ghosts saving three elemental Kami: Amaterasu – goddess of the sun, Tsukuyomi – god of the moon, and Susanoo – god of storms.
Game Mechanic – Attunement
There are three attunements in the game: sun (orange/red), moon (blue), and storm (green). Players can gain attunements from the respective pillar. Totems can now be destroyed, attuned enemies take normal damage again, and platforms become solid while the attuned player is standing on it. Most importantly, attacking an attuned enemy while you do not have the correct attunement will cause you to deal significantly reduced damaged to said enemy. When you have the correct attunement and hit an attuned enemy with an attack, you will hear a sound and see a visual change. This means the enemy is momentarily vulnerable to all attacks from anyone regardless of attunement.
Chapter 1
The Mongols have devised a ritual to steal the ki from the kami, granting them divine protection. The ghosts set out to a village to help the kami and stop the Mongols. After defeating the enemies, they learn of additional rituals taking place and continue their journey.
Objectives
- Search for the imprisoned kami
- Conquer the ritualists
- Earn attunement and destroy the totem
- Enter the Torii Gate to stop more rituals
Chapter 2
The ghosts found three more rituals: one beside a river, one at a war camp, and one within a canyon. At this point, the ritualists had nearly drained the kami, providing them with additional protections. The ghosts traveled to each location, sabotaging the rituals and defeating the Mongols. Once complete, they continued their journey to the last ritual being performed by the great onibaba, Iyo.
Objectives
- Conquer the ritualists by the river
- Earn attunement and destroy the totem
- Conquer the ritualists in the war camp
- Earn attunement and destroy the totem
- Conquer the ritualists in the canyon
- Earn attunement and destroy the totem
- Enter the Torii Gate to stop Iyo’s ritual
Chapter 3
As the ghosts near the final ritual, Iyo narrates that her prayers to the kami went unanswered and an innocent life was lost. She is only taking what she is owed. The ghosts had other plans and once again sabotaged the ritual, slaying the Mongol and Oni in the process. The kami were freed and balance was returned to the island, for now…

- Defeat the Oni Brutes
- Enter the Torii Gate to finish the story
